Madge Wheeler Lydick

Madge Wheeler Lydick, 93, Coatesville, passed away Nov. 20, 2020 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born northwest of Reno, Ind. on Dec. 30, 1926, the daughter of Gilbert Wheeler and Jewell Kelly Wheeler Ludlow.

She married her high school sweetheart Willard Lydick on Nov. 8, 1947 and he survives.

Madge was a graduate of Amo High School, Central College, Indianapolis University and DePauw University.

She retired in 1988 as a school teacher, having taught 20 years in Mill Creek Schools and two years at Plainfield Community Schools. She was a lifetime member of Amo United Methodist Church, ADK Teachers Sorority, Indiana Retired Teachers and had served on the board of directors at Sycamore Rehabilitation Services.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Willard Lydick; daughter Sharon (Donald Wingler) Anderson; son Dennis Lydick; grandchildren Joshua Lydick, Erin (Ryan) Fones, Brian Anderson and Mandy (Thomas II) Lough; seven great-grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents and a brother, Myron Wheeler.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Bousley Funeral Home, Coatesville, with Bill Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Amo Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, masks must be worn at all times. If you don’t feel comfortable coming in person the family understands that you are supporting them in thought and prayer.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Sycamore Agency in Danville.
