‘Aunt Mary’ Provides

“Aunt Mary,” as the children of the 1800s fondly called Mary Allison who founded the Greencastle orphanage, continues to help children who need a place to call home. Ginger Scott (left), treasurer of the Mary Allison Children’s Trust, and President Jim Jackson present a $500 check to Kelly Russ, chief of Putnam County Emergency Management Services for the Putnam County Safe Haven Baby Box. “This seemed like the a perfect fit for the Trust and to honor Mary,” Jackson said. The goal of the Trust is provide funding necessary to continue the legacy of Mary Allison in improving lives of the children in Putnam County.
