First Baptist Church calls new pastor
First Baptist Church of Greencastle has announced the calling of Pastor Thomas Blodgett to the position of senior pastor beginning Jan. 1.
Blodgett has been serving First Baptist Church of Greencastle located at 404 Judson Dr. as an associate pastor since August 2019.
Pastor Blodgett and his wife Brianne are originally from Elkorn, Wis. They have three children, Jameson, Cayden and Madison. During his time at First Baptist Church, Pastor Blodgett has been providing pastoral care, leading the children’s and youth ministry programs, assisting with First Baptist Preschool and overseeing church operations.
In 2017, Tom obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian ministry from Northwest Nazarene. In 2020, he received a Master of Arts degree in Christian ministry and is currently completing a Master of Divinity degree from Liberty University.
Prior to serving as associate pastor for First Baptist Church of Greencastle, Pastor Tom served seven years as the staff associate pastor for Turning Point Church in Janesville, Wis. During his tenure at Turning Point Church, he worked closely with the leadership board to oversee various ministry projects. During this time, he served as men’s ministry director, connections pastor and small group coordinator.
He is driven by a passion to serve others and looks forward to pastoring First Baptist Church and serving the Putnam County community.
“I am excited to be part of what God is doing in and through his churches here in Greencastle,” Pastor Blodgett said. “I look forward to guiding First Baptist Church into the future as we seek to glorify God and share his love and truth throughout our community. We as a church family are excited about the many ministries we offer to help care for our community walking along side individuals as they grow in their relationships with Jesus. Our mission is to share God’s love to all people empowering them to follow Jesus through service and missions.”
First Baptist Church is located at 404 Judson Dr. in Greencastle. In-person services take place at 10 a.m. Sunday with small group studies at 11 a.m.
