Latia Curry

Part of an alleged conspiracy to traffic drugs into Putnamville Correctional Facility, an Indianapolis woman was booked in the Putnam County Jail early Monday morning.

The fifth — and apparently final — person charged in the matter, 28-year-old Latia L. Curry faces one count of Level 5 felony conspiracy to traffic with an inmate.

The case first came to the public’s attention when a former correctional officer, 30-year-old Micah White of Linton, was accused of smuggling drugs into the facility in early November as well as plotting to do it again in December.

White is charged with Level 5 felony conspiracy to traffic a controlled substance with an inmate and Level 6 felony official misconduct.

Curry is charged for her role in a plot that also involves two Putnamville offenders, 32-year-old Kenneth Johnson and 31-year-old Keith McCray, as well as White’s sister-in-law Sarah Kidwell, 35, Greenwood, who is accused of being the line of communication between the offenders’ families and White.

If convicted, Curry would face between one and six years in prison for a Level 5 felony.
