You can help make Valentine’s Day cards for nursing home residents

Monday, January 11, 2021

Starting now and going until Feb. 5 the Greencastle Park Department is looking for creative, crafty and caring people to make and donate Valentine cards for residents in the local nursing homes and assisted living centers in Greencastle and Cloverdale.

If you want to make one, two or three, the more the merrier. The Park Department is hoping to lift the spirits of the family members in these facilities that haven’t been able to see their family members. COVID has been hard on all of us, but not being able to spend any time with the people we love will really bring us down.

So, the Park Department is reaching out for support from the community to warm their hearts and bring some light back into their lives. Help celebrate Valentine’s Day with the people who matter the most -- family.

  • This is a great idea. So many nursing home residents don't have any family and never get mail. It really would cheer them up.
