Sheriff’s Office

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated three recent property-damage crashes.

• At 8:48 p.m. Thursday, Breyton D. Alsup, 25, New Ross, was westbound on U.S. 36 in a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox when he hit a deer.

The vehicle was towed. Deputy Randy Patrick estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.

• At 5:26 p.m. Thursday, Grady L. Seahorn, 57, Greencastle, was westbound on County Road 125 South when he hit a deer.

Deputy Robert Soilleux estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

• At 9:29 p.m. on Wednesday, Kathly Weddle had been southbound on Main Street in Fillmore in a 2004 Saturn Vue registered to Jesse Stout of Fillmore.

Weddle said she saw Alisha Kimes get behind the wheel of a 2003 Ford Taurus registered to Patrick Kimes parked at 9 N. Main St. Weddle said she stopped her car so that it was southbound in the northbound lane, directly behind Kimes’ vehicle.

Weddle told Deputy Soilleux she exited her vehicle, leaving the driver’s side door open, but before she could do anything else, Kimes purposely backed into the driver’s side door and then fled southbound.

Soilleux said there was no apparent visible damage to the vehicle, but it resulted in the door binding, not closing or clasping properly.

Weddle said a resident at 9 N. Main St. witnessed the entire incident, but the man refused to answer the door.

Other deputies joined Soilleux in searching the area, but could not find Kimes or the vehicle.

Soilleux estimated damage at less than $1,000.
