Stella Ethel Adamson Watt, 97, of Greencastle, passed away on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021.

Born Sept. 1, 1923 in Putnam County, she was the daughter of Howard Randall and Bertha (Carmichael) Adamson.

She was a 1941 graduate of Greencastle High School and attended Indiana State Teachers College in Terre Haute.

She served in the United States Navy Waves during World War II, and was honorably discharged June 6, 1946. She married Charles Byron Watt on Aug. 22, 1947 in Indianapolis.

Stella worked at RCA in Indianapolis, P.R. Mallory in Greencastle and engaged on the family farm. She was a member of the VFW and American Legion, Greencastle. She enjoyed playing cards, working jigsaw puzzles and all family reunions.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Sylvia Underwood, sister Ellen Thomas and two brothers, Raymond Adamson and George Adamson.

Stella is survived by her grandchildren, Laurie (Dennis) Frizzi of New Cumberlin, Pa., and Michael Underwood of Greencastle; great-grandchildren Tyler Blessing, Carson Blessing and Kaelynn Underwood; and special “nieces,” nephews and extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26, at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home. Interment will follow with military honors at the Calcutta Cemetery in Carbon.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday.
