Ronald Isom McGuire

Ronald Isom McGuire, 76, of Greencastle, passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021 at Hickory Creek at Sunset.

Ronald was born in Greencastle on May 3, 1944, the son of Minter and Thelma (Johnson) McGuire, and was a 1962 graduate of Reelsville High School.

Mr. McGuire was a member of American Legion Post 58. He served as a police officer at DePauw University for 35 years until his retirement. Ronald loved Indiana University basketball.

Survivors include his three sons, Scott McGuire, Coby McGuire (Amy) and Perry McGuire (Jamie); two sisters, Nancy Hull and Sue Floyd; five grandchildren, Joshua, Marissa, Abby, Graham and Maverick; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pat Hassler.

A memorial visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3. Military honors will be held by the Putnam County Honor Guard at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
