After trailing 8-0 in the opening two minutes, DePauw scored the next nine and gradually pulled away from visiting Greenville for a 77-44 win in Neal Fieldhouse. DePauw moved to 1-0, while the Panthers dropped to 1-3.

The Panthers, who implemented a full-court press the entire contest, jumped on the Tigers early as Lauren Eagleson nailed a 3-pointer on the opening possession before Amanda Brooks scored and Eagleson added a 3-point play for the 8-0 lead. DePauw went on an 11-0 run later in the opening frame and took a 20-12 lead into the second quarter. The Tigers opened up a 15-point lead on a couple of occasions in the second before Greenville finished the half with four straight to trim the Tigers' lead to 34-23 at the intermission.

Greenville carried that momentum over to the second half as it started with a 5-0 spurt to cut the Tigers' lead to 34-28. The Panthers were still within single digits at 40-32, but the Tigers responded with a 14-4 stretch to take a 54-36 advantage into the final stanza. Included in that run was a 3-pointer from Claire Keefe off an in-bounds pass that pushed the senior's career-point total to 1,001 and made her the 19th player in DePauw women's basketball reach to reach the milestone. In the fourth, DePauw led by as many as 32 after a 10-0 stretch late in the contest.

Mya Shannon paced DePauw with 19, while Keefe added 17 along with a game-high nine rebounds. Maelyn Stephen led Greenville with 10 points.

The Tigers hit 41.7 percent from the floor to Greenville's 35.6 percent and DePauw held a 45-28 margin on the boards. DePauw committed 16 turnovers to Greenville's 26.

The two teams square off in a 3 p.m. contest in Neal Fieldhouse.
