Betty L. Hancock

Betty L. Hancock, age 80, of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, Feb. 1, 2021 with family by her side.

Betty was born on April 20, 1940 to Taylor Parnell and Betsy Rogers-Parnell.

She was married to Roy Hancock, who survives and resides in Greencastle. The couple lived in Greencastle, Cloverdale and Ridgeway, Mo.

She was a dedicated and hard worker, retiring from Putnam County Hospital after 32 years, where she worked as a housekeeper. She was a member of the Moose, loving music and dancing. A lover of animals, the only thing she spoiled more than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her two dogs.

Betty was known for being a simple, yet feisty, and loving woman. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Betty was preceded in death by her son, Steve Moldon, as well as all of her siblings.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Hancock; daughters Gloria Skipworth and Vanessa Monnett; grandchildren Scott Monnett (Laura), Sara Monnett (Toby Blackwood), Jason Monnett (Rachael), Benjamin Monnett (Anna), Amanda Moldon, Steven Moldon, Misty Owens, Chad Moldon and Michael Moldon; great-grandchildren Liam, Analiese, Aven, Gillian, Bella, Kaiya, Quintin, Aaron, Mariah, Jordan and Olivia. Oliva was always there helping her great-grandmother Betty and keeping her entertained.

A strong woman, who defined being a fighter and survivor, lost a hard-fought battle with dementia. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
