Linda Gail Whitmer

Linda Gail Whitmer, 75, of Bainbridge, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021.

She was born May 29, 1945 in Memphis, Tenn., to the late Marlie B. and Edna Ruth (Carlew) Hindman.

She married William “Bill” Whitmer on Jan. 5, 1963 in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death in 2018.

Linda worked at RCA in Indianapolis for many years until retiring in 1995. Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life and she loved to spend her time with them. She enjoyed being outdoors working in her flowers and garden.

She is survived by three children, Daniel and Donna Whitmer, Dennis Whitmer and Dawn Overbay; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; siblings Mary Hammer, Barbara Hindman and Rodney Hindman; stepbrother Bart Stewart; several nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law Ted Whitmer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings JC Hindman, Jerry Hindman and June Hindman; stepsister Vanessa Moyer; grandson Steven Overbay; and son-in-law Chuck Overbay.

Funeral service will be at noon on Saturday, Feb. 13 at Servies & Morgan Funeral Home, 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale, with grandson Dakota Whitmer officiating. Burial will follow in Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.
