Harriet Ellen Powell

Harriet Ellen Powell, 86, of Greencastle, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021 at Putnam County Hospital.

Harriet was born in West Terre Haute on March 27, 1934, the daughter of Oliver Coordes and Mildred White Coordes.

She was a graduate of Patricksburg High School.

Mrs. Powell worked as a bank teller for many years. She was also a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She also enjoyed planting flowers.

Harriet was a member of Jordan Village Presbyterian Church and a lifetime member of Eastern Star.

Survivors include her three children, Jodi Raisor (husband Gayle), Ginger Stout and Greg Powell (wife Crystal); four grandchildren, Mandy Wells (husband Kenny), Aaron Diel (wife Tracy), Kayln Powell and Ellie Powell; five great-grandchildren, Makenna, Keira, Leyton and Emelia Wells and Sebastian Diel; a sister-in-law, Faye Salyers; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years Richard Powell; and a son-in-law, Richard Stout.

At her request, private graveside services were held on Thursday, Feb. 11 at Forest Hill Cemetery.
