Hazel Anita Henderson, 89, of Bloomington, formerly of Greencastle, died on Sunday, March 7, 2021.

She was born July 15, 1931 to Merle Roy Selsor and Thelma Hazel (Tillotson) Selsor in Collison, Ill., and was the oldest of four daughters, including Jean Thomas (John), Janette Cox (Marvin) and Patricia Selsor.

She married the love of her life, Robert Gene Henderson, on April 15, 1950 and together they had three children, Robert Dennis Henderson (Ceil) of Fishers; Anita Rebecca Green (Bob) of Bloomington; and Jeffry Merle Henderson (Lori) of Trafalgar.

Anita will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother who unfailingly put others before herself. She enjoyed caring for family and friends above all else. She enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Castle Squares (Greencastle) and Scatter Promenaders (Mooresville) square dance clubs. Her gardens were always a source of great pride, sharing the bounty with others. She was a tireless worker and dedicated friend. Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Anita graduated from Fillmore High School in 1949 and was a licensed public accountant. Throughout her lifetime she was employed at Art Furniture, DePauw University, Edward Wood and Company, York Pontiac/GMC and Aqua Systems Incorporated. She also managed the finances for Big Walnut Water Company and served as a public accountant to individual clients out of her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and her sisters Patricia and Janette.

She is survived by her sister Jean; her three children; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
