Church of the Nazarene plans Holy Week services

Commemorating not only Easter Sunday, but the events surrouding up to Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and resurrection, the Greencastle Church of the Nazarene will conduct four days of services during Holy Week.

Events at the church will kick off at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 1 with Maundy Thursday worship and communion.

All are welcome to join as the congregation gathers for an intimate time of worhsip and anounted teaching, studying the Last Supper and taking communion together.

On Good Friday, the church family will again gather for 6:30 p.m. worship.

“The cross of Jesus is central to our understanding of who God is,” Pastor Phil Diaz said. “We invite the community to join us as we worship the Lord and journey together in understanding what Jesus Christ went through on the cross for humanity.”

Gathering again at 6:30 p.m., the church will commemorate Holy Saturday with another worship gathering.

“What happened after Jesus died on the cross? Join us as we gather for a intimate time of worship and examine this question together,” Diaz said.

Finally, the church will be celebrating the resurrection with its 10 a.m. gathering on Sunday.

There will be breakfast, booth photo opportunities, worship and preaching, kids’ activities and egg hunts for various ages.

Through it all, the church family emphasizes its belief that “You have a place here.”

Greencastle Church of the Nazarene is located at 580 S. CR 100 East (Round Barn Road), Greencastle.
