Health Department to host second mass vaccination site Saturday at South Putnam

The Putnam County Health Department has announced a second mass vaccination clinic, set for Saturday, April 17 at South Putnam High School.

The site will be administering the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, available to anyone 18 years and older. Second dose appointments will be necessary 28 days later.

Photo identification and proof of age will be required.

The clinic will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at South Putnam High School, 1780 E. U.S. 40, Greencastle.

Anyone interested in volunteering to help with the clinic may contact the health department for more information.

Appointments are currently available and may be booked by calling 211 or visiting ourshot.in.gov and selecting the “Putnam Co HD” and then searching by zip code. Patients will be sent a text message or email confirming their appointment and a link to register. Registration must be completed prior to the appointment.

After receiving their vaccination, patients will be required to wait for a 15 to 30 minute monitoring period. Second dose appointments will be made on site during the vaccination process. Patients are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving their second dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.
