Area 30 now enrolling juniors and seniors

Tuesday, April 20, 2021

Area 30 Career Center is currently enrolling juniors and seniors from all Putnam County high schools and Eminence for career and technical education (CTE) courses.

Students and parents can learn about the 17 programs Area 30 offers by visiting its website and viewing the teacher videos.

Area 30 will also offer a fire and rescue program beginning in August. Juniors and seniors from all Putnam County schools and Eminence are eligible to enroll. Two firefighters from the Greencastle Fire Department will be instructing the program. Students can earn six high school credits and will have the opportunity to secure five different certifications during one school year.

Area 30 is partnering with the Greencastle Fire Department and other township fire departments to provide students with real-world experiences. The program is able to start with equipment and turnout gear donated by these departments and Ivy Tech Community College.

Students interested in enrolling in this and other Area 30 programs may contact their high school or Area 30 guidance counselor or visit www.area30.k12.in.us to learn more.
