New prayer group to help with anxiety and stress
Greencastle Presbyterian Church is offering a five-week group that can help deal with stress and provide spiritual resources for anxiety.
The group will meet at noon on Wednesdays in the church parlor.
Rev. Wes Kendall, a trained spiritual director, will help the group explore the Ignatian Examen, an ancient prayer that can help us slow down and notice God’s activity in our lives and our worlds.
With so much uncertainty in our world and with ongoing challenges that continue to weigh upon us locally and across our country, it helps to utilize therapeutic resources to calm us and help us feel connected. Many have found the Examen prayer helpful in relieving stress or coping with hard situations at work or at home.
Each group meeting will last about 50 minutes, and anyone who is interested is invited to contact Wes Kendall (wes@yourgpc.org or 765.653.5713). There is no cost to attend the group.
Participants can purchase a book on the Examen prayer for $12.
The first group meeting will be Wednesday, April 28 and will meet for the four Wednesdays in May as well.
