County Jail

Eight people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Thursday

• At 2:49 a.m. Donald L. Shoemaker, 49, Roachdale, was lodged at the jail for domestic battery, resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct.

Wednesday

• At 10:15 a.m. Alisha J. Heffley, 28, Bloomington, was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.

Tuesday

• At 8:03 p.m. Madonna D. Boswell, 34, Coatesville, was housed at the jail for driving with a suspended license with a prior conviction.

• At 11:42 a.m. Keegen C. Bingman, 21, Terre Haute, was booked in on a warrant for battery, burglary, theft and violation of home detention.

• At 9:56 a.m. Shannon F. Walker, 31, Roachdale, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 9:42 a.m. Colton B. Couch, 18, Coatesville, was taken into custody for probation violation.

Monday

• At 11:33 p.m. Hannah M. Danneberger, 31, Stewardson, Ill., was housed at the jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

• At 9:30 p.m. Desiree L. Agee, 33, Poland, was booked in for domestic battery on a person less than 14 years old.

Sheriff’s Office

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated four recent property-damage crashes.

• At 5:28 a.m. on Sunday, Brian E. Robertson, 35, Terre Haute, was eastbound on County Road 600 South approaching County Road 200 West in a 2017 Subaru Legacy when he hit a deer.

The vehicle had to be towed. Deputy Scott Ducker estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

• At 10:32 p.m. on Saturday, Andrew J. Deloughery, 20, Avon, was eastbound on County Road 350 North approaching Patriots Landing Drive in a 2010 Ford Mustang.

Deloughery continued straight at the 90-degree turn, leaving the road and hitting the guy-wire to a power pole.

The vehicle was towed, but Deloughery was not injured and released from the scene.

Hendricks Power made repairs to the pole.

Deputy Josh Deal estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

• At 9:25 p.m. on Saturday, Joseph M. Kemp, 36, Greenwood, was northbound on State Road 243 in a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox when he hit a deer.

The vehicle had to be towed. Deputy Deal estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

• At 7:10 a.m. on Monday, April 19, Christopher W. Huff, 52, Greencastle, was northbound on County Road 325 West near the intersection of County Road 450 South in a 2017 Chevrolet Express when he hit a deer.

Deputy Ducker estimated damage at $1,000-$2,500.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to three recent dispatches:

• At 2:44 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to the apartments at 330 Greenwood Ave. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 2:46 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The building was ventilated and the alarm was reset. GFD went back into service at 3 p.m.

• At 1:34 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to 833 Indianapolis Rd. for a small mulch fire. Firefighters arrived at 1:40 and extinguished the fire. GFD went back into service at 1:43 p.m.

• At 9:38 a.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to Ascena for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 9:43 and were notified by a staff member that the alarm had been having issues. The alarm was reset prior to GFD’s arrival. GFD went back into service at 9:55 a.m.

Additionally, GFD recently performed six medical assists and had one disregard.
