County Jail

Five people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Sunday

• At 10:01 a.m. Mary A. Watson, 61, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine.

• At 3:01 a.m. Vanessa M. Eageny, 30, Greenwood, was taken into custody for driving with a Schedule I or II controlled substance in the body and driving while intoxicated.

Saturday

• At 12:49 p.m. Michael C. Minnick, 39, Spencer, was housed at the jail for leaving the scene of a property-damage accident.

• At 12:03 a.m. Kenneth N. Terry, 21, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated.

• At 11:36 a.m. Robert L. Jones, 42, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for theft and possession of methamphetamine.

City Police

Two recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 8:45 a.m. Saturday, James Finley, 59, Greencastle, was arrested by Capt. Chris Jones.

Taken into custody at Robe-Ann Park, Finley was arrested on a Putnam County warrant for failure to appear in court on original charges of driving with a suspended license. He was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

• At 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Austin Chadd, 27, Greencastle, was arrested by Sgt. Ed Wilson.

Arrested at a Keightly Road residence, Chadd was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on charges of strangulation and battery with bodily injury.

One recent summons was issued by city officers.

• At 10:50 p.m. Friday, Destiny Baugh, 22, Greencastle, was cited by Officer Alec Pettit.

Issued a summons into court for possession of marijuana, Baugh was cited at a Castlebury Apartments residence.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to three recent dispatches:

• At 11:56 a.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to Amanda Procenti - State Farm Insurance for a vehicle fire. Firefighters arrived at 12:01 p.m. and determined that antifreeze had boiled over in the vehicle. The antifreeze was cleaned up, and GFD went back into service at 12:16 p.m.

• At 2:36 p.m. on Friday, GFD responded to a semi which struck a power pole near Ashley Square Cinema. Firefighters arrived at the scene at 2:40 and were advised that fluid had leaked from a damaged transformer. GFD cleaned up the fluid on the roadway. GFD went back into service at 2:45 p.m.

• At 6:41 p.m. on Saturday, GFD responded on a box alarm for a fire reported at the Walmart Supercenter. Firefighters arrived at 6:47 and were advised that a diesel generator was only emitting smoke. GFD went back into service at 6:57 p.m.

Additionally, GFD recently performed eight medical assists and had three disregards.
