Registration under way for June 14-18 Police Boot Camp

Boys and girls in area schools will be given the opportunity to learn what police training is like in the annual Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department Police Boot Camp.

The event will take place June 14-18 from 8 a.m. to noon daily near the Aquatic Center at Robe-Ann Park in Greencastle.

Participants will be included in K-9 and SWAT drills, observe rescue dive demonstrations and more. Team-building exercises, physical fitness training, marching and flag ceremonies will be included.

Pre-registration is required. The fee is $10 per person. Registration deadline is Thursday, June 10.

Forms can be found at Greencastle City Hall or the park office. Online registration can be done at www.greencastleparks.com.

All participants will receive a uniform T-shirt and shorts. Snacks and drinks will be included.

Program partners with the City Park Department include Greencastle City Police, Putnam County Prosecutor’s Office, Indiana Excise Police, Indiana State Police, Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, Putnam County Fraternal Order of Police, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Putnam EMS, Greencastle Fire Department, Crossroads Communications, Papa John’s, Area 30 Career Center Criminal Justice Program DePauw University Police, Stat Flight-4 Evac and the Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department.
