Vicki Jo Hess, 76, of Brazil, passed away Monday morning, May 17, 2021.

She was born in Indianapolis on Jan. 17, 1945 to Joseph Edward Laudig and Mildred Louise (Coffman) Laudig.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Hess; two sons, Todd Farris and wife Marla of Greencastle and Troy Farris and wife Jennifer of Brazil; four grandchildren, Ryan Farris and wife Elizabeth, Katie Farris, Jackson Farris and Jenna Farris; one great-grandson, Harvey Farris; and her sisters, Nancy Branneman and Patty Buis.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She graduated from Cloverdale High School in 1963. In addition to raising two boys, she worked in sales throughout her life and truly had a calling for working with people.

She was an active member of the Alpha Omega Chapter of Tri Kappa for many years as well as an avid tennis player. She was a key player in travel tennis leagues with the Terre Haute Tennis Club for many years.

Her love of her family and friends was the most important thing in her life and she spent many weekends attending all of her grandchildren’s events and enjoying her vast group of friends over a game of euchre or trying out a new restaurant. She attended Calvary Church in Plainfield and by words and character lived the life of a Christian.

Vicki passed peacefully in her sleep after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.

There will be two services held in Vicki’s honor. A graveside service for family and close friends will be held at

2 p.m. on Saturday, June 12 at the Cloverdale Cemetery, 155 E. Robert Weist Ave. in Cloverdale. A memorial service open to everyone will be held the following Saturday, June 19 at 2 p.m. at the Calvary Church in Plainfield, 1290 S. Center St., Plainfield.
