David A. Wood

David went up to the spirit in the sky May 15, 2021.

David was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy.

David had many achievements in his life but he was especially proud and honored to co-chair the project that led to the Korea-Vietnam monument that now stands on the northeast corner of the Putnam County Courthouse lawn. With the willing participation of the local VFW and the American Legion, 10 months later a dedication followed honoring all who served in Korea and Vietnam.

David also participated in the dedication ceremony of the Veterans Memorial Highway.

David is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughter Traci (Bryant) Lane, brother-in-law Steve Clark, beloved pup Sam and grandpup Bo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James P. and Doris A. Wood, father- and mother-in-law Robert and Frances Clark and sister-in-law Michelle Clark.

David will be at rest in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
