Sutherlin selected as North-South All-Star

Greencastle senior Nick Sutherlin will have one last opportunity to don the purple and gray of Greencastle after being selected to the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association North-South All-Star Series held June 25-27 in Evansville.

Sutherlin was chosen for the South team as a third baseman for the event, one of 25 members selected for the team.

Players will workout on the June 25 before the North-South All-Star Banquet that evening.

Two nine-inning games are played June 26 at Charles H. Braun Stadium at the University of Evansville, with DH hitters allowed in the third game, before a single nine-inning game is played June 27 with participants playing in their home jerseys and wood bats allowed.

Sutherlin hit .493 in 101 plate appearances for the 19-8 Tiger Cubs, collecting 35 hits in 71 at-bats, scoring 41 times and driving in 32 runs with 10 home runs, seven doubles and a triple, drawing 20 walks and being hit by pitches 10 times while only striking out 15 times.
