Keyla Marie Sims

Keyla Marie Sims, 26, of Martinsville, Ill., passed away on June 11, 2021.

Born Aug. 14, 1994 in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Diane Michelle (Sims) Montero.

She worked at the Wendy’s Restaurant in Martinsville, Ill.

Keyla is survived by her children, Kayden Sims and Keith Gernigin; her mother, Michelle; a sister, Catherine Abu Hashish; brothers Christian Montero and Cameron Jacobs; half-brothers Bobbie McCracken, Derrick Daugherty and Dakota Daugherty; a half-sister, Doris Daugherty; and grandparents Violet and Keith Alexander.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Rowland Sims, and her grandmother, Doris Daughtery.

A celebration of life will be held for Keyla at a later date.

Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
