Putnam County Hospital medical transport gives first ride
The Putnam County Hospital annual black tie gala has become an event that the community plans for and looks forward to each year.
In 2018 and 2019 fundraising efforts were used to purchase and maintain the new Putnam County Medical Transport.
On Tuesday, June 15, Putnam County Hospital’s Roy Bumgardner was able to use the medical transport for the first time, to take Barbara Hill to her appointment. It was an exciting day for Putnam County Hospital, the Putnam County Cancer Center and the community.
“Thank you to the many donors who made it possible to meet the transportation needs of our Putnam County Hospital Cancer Center patients,” Cancer Center office manager Becky Hutcheson said. “This will truly impact their lives for the better.”
Hutcheson has been a huge part of the Putnam County Cancer Center and has been waiting years to see a program like this take off.
“A huge thank you to Nick and Rob York for their efforts in assisting PCH with the purchase of the van and again a huge thank you to tour community donors, this would not have been possible without their continued support,” Brook Trissel, PCH director of marketing, said. “We are excited for our 2021 Gala, which will be held on Nov. 20 at Owl Ridge.”
