Community Teaching Kitchen offered in August

Purdue Extension health and human sciences educator Abbi Sampson will host a free cooking demonstration class in August at the Putnam County Public Library.

Participants will learn about better eating choices and making healthy, quick and low-cost meals in four interactive sessions.

The sessions will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 10, 24 and 31 from 5-6 p.m. and be held in the Kiwanis Room at the library, 103 E. Poplar St., Greencastle.

The topics will include the following: Eating Healthy on a Budget, Portion Sizes and Nutrition Labels, Eating Out and Family Events and Adjusting for Special Diets and Physical Activity.

Those who participate in all four sessions will receive a free gift.

The series has been made possible through grant funding from Parke County REMC’s Operation Round Up program.
