Fun on the Fourth

Monday, July 5, 2021
As seen from the park and various other spots around town, Celebrate 4, Greencastle’s annual Fourth of July celebration, reached a crescendo with a colorful display from Mortonville Fireworks, but the event actually lasted two days this year.

Saturday morning kicked off with the Mike Rokicki Memorial 5K Run, followed by the children’s Firecracker Fun Run.

On Sunday, folks were back at the park long before the fireworks for various events, including a performance by Danny Martin and Friends.

  • I was disappointed this year with the fireworks. Two many ground works. They were fine if you were in the park, but for those parked outside, that could not see them was bad news. And what we could see in the air were not that great.
