Wood was reportedly trapped in the vehicle until he could be extricated by Greencastle firefighters and transported to the hospital.

A front-seat passenger in the Prosser vehicle said the driver suffered a seizure as he was northbound on 10th Street and continued through the red light into the intersection.

Prosser was removed from the vehicle by EMS and taken to the hospital.

Total damage in the accident was estimated at $10,000-$25,000.

Sheriff’s Office

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated two recent property-damage crashes.

• At 1:45 p.m. on Monday, Cu Tran, 51, Brownsburg, was eastbound on Interstate 70 near the 39.5-mile marker in a 2018 Toyota Tundra. Jason Washington, 38, Indianapolis, was also eastbound in a 2017 Kenworth tractor-trailer.

Cu told Maj. Dwight Simmons he was in the passing lane when the semi changed lanes and sideswiped his vehicle.

However, Washington said he observed Cu’s vehicle in his rear-view mirror and it began to fishtail and appear to lose control, as if it had blown a tire. Washington said the other vehicle crossed out of its lane and struck him, and that he never changed out of the slow lane.

Simmons’ investigation, which was assisted by Cpl. Scott Ducker, revealed that the damage involved the passenger front fender, which was peeled backward away from the truck. There was no side impact damage and only a minor scrape on the semi-trailer.

The front passenger tire was also flat, though it was undetermined if it occurred before or during the collision.

Simmons estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000. The Toyota was towed.

• At 3:10 p.m. on Saturday, Donald Dancy, 22, Indianapolis, was eastbound on State Road 240 in a 2008 Ford F-250 pulling a trailer.

Dancy told Deputy Tanner Brown he was going downhill with the trailer began going sideways. He tried to slow down to maintain control, but the vehicle and trailer began spinning until they came to a stop in a ditch.

Dancy’s passenger, 21-year-old Anderson Manzano, complained of head pain but signed a statement of release with Putnam County EMS. Dancy was not injured.

The truck was towed. Brown estimated damage at $10,000-$25,000.
