County Jail

One person were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Thursday

• At 2:36 a.m. Rex I. Murphy, 45, Greenwood, was lodged at the jail on a warrant for theft.

City Police

Four recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 10:02 p.m. Wednesday, Michael Schafer, 20, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Jared McDaniel.

Taken into custody at Northwood Boulevard and East Franklin Street, Schafer was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on charges of battery and disorderly conduct.

• At 6:17 p.m. Wednesday, David Thompson, 34, Greencastle -- one of four wanted suspects featured on the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department‘s Mugshot Monday Facebook page -- was arrested by GPD Officer McDaniel.

Thompson was taking into custody while walking along North Jackson Street near Columbia Street. He was arrested on Putnam County warrants for battery by bodily waste with the victim being a public safety officer and battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, along with a probation violation.

While being patted down by Officer McDaniel during the stop, Thompson was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

• At 8:47 p.m. Tuesday, Ervin Colvin, 55, Wichita, Kan., was arrested by Sgt. Brad Hiatt at the TSC store in Putnam Plaza.

Colvin, who was lodged in the Putnam County Jail, was picked up on a Missouri state warrant for failure to appear in court on an original charge of two counts of “stealing.”

• At 5:08 a.m. Tuesday, Elizabeth Schick, 29, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Angela Taylor.

Taken into custody on a domestic battery charge, Schick was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently performed six medical assists, had one disregard and found no incident on one run.
