In recognition of Jim Maxwell’s contributions to Kiwanis, the bicycle rodeo hosted by the club during National Night Out has been renamed for him.

A longtime member and past president of Kiwanis, Maxwell always looked forward to the bicycle rodeo. The course offers an opportunity for members to connect with Putnam County students and discuss the importance of bicycle safety.

Maxwell passed away in the spring of 2019. In honor of her late husband, Loretta Maxwell donated a new bicycle for a drawing at this year’s National Night Out. The winner was first-grader Natalyn Yeagley.
