Gary Wayne Branagin

Gary Wayne “Mr. B” Branagin, 74, of Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021.

Born May 11, 1947 in Lebanon, he was the son of Gearl and Virginia (Craig) Branagin.

He was a 1965 graduate of Thorntown High School.

He was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force and a member of the American Legion.

Gary had owned and operated Branagin Oil Company and Mr. B’s Amoco.

He was a youth baseball coach for more than 20 years, known to his players as “Mr. B.” He was avid IU fan and poker player and loved the Dodgers.

Gary is survived by his wife of 54-1/2 years, Darcella (Linton) Branagin; sons Jerry (Karen) Branagin, David Branagin, Brian (Laura) Branagin and Randy Branagin; sisters Karen (Jim) Barnett and Joyce (Mark) Richardson; a brother, Dennis (Veda) Branagin; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will hold a celebration of life service for Gary at a later date.
