Making Birthdays Special

Monday, August 16, 2021
Mary Allison Children’s Trust Vice President Mike Goss (second from right) presents a $250 check to Greencastle Middle School Principal Scott Weltz and teacher Paige Paquin recently from the Project Grants of second semester 2020-21 for the Birthday Project as students Madilyn Hiatt, Jacey Call and Mya Boston display birthday packets. The Birthday Project began a couple of years ago to recognize all students’ birthdays. The students receive a small bag with a personalized notes, pencil and a rice krispie treat. The GMS staff wanted to make every student felt special on his or her birthday. Students who have birthdays that do not fall on school days or the school year will also receive a birthday bag. “The smiles on the students faces when receiving them is priceless,” Ms. Paquin said. The next Project Grant Cycle will be Aug. 16 to Sept. 17. Schools wishing to complete an application may do so my emailing Ginger Scott at gscott@wabashcapital.com, call 765-655-2333 or contact any board member.
