She was known to be a plant guru, often giving away her spider plants to anyone she met. She was skilled at sewing and was known for her world famous lasagna and meatloaf. She was always quick witted and looked forward to family game nights.

In addition to being a devoted full time softball, baseball, soccer, football, Brownie and Girl Scout mom, she also sang in the church choir.

She also enjoyed working full time in accounting at several places over the years. She finished her accounting career after 15 years at Heartland Automotive in Greencastle.

During her retirement, Carole always made her grandchildren’s extracurricular activities a priority, even during her cancer treatments.

Carole is survived by the love of her life (and sometimes PITA) husband, Mike Larson; her children, Cristen Carole Thompson, Kimberly Michele Larson-Casey, Craig Michael Larson (Meghan) and Eric Scott Larson (Carrie); her grandchildren Brittany Larson (Jacob Shaffer), Alyssa Thompson (Curtis Brown), Carter Thompson, Morgan Casey (Lorenz Jackson), twins Matt and Makenzie Casey, Isabella Larson, Lillian Larson and Noah Larson; great-grandchildren Grayson and Case; as well as her sisters, Diane Long and Sue Van Antwerp (Gary); and nephews Ryan, Rick, Brett and niece Julie.

A memorial service in tentatively being planned for Sept. 21 at the Newburgh Outdoor Symphony Center on the Ohio River.
