North Putnam closes schools, cancels all athletics

Due to a recent uptick in confirmed COVID cases, North Putnam has closed all of its schools through Labor Day and, as a result has canceled all athletic events and practices through next Monday.

The following events are impacted by the school closure:

Tuesday: volleyball at White River Valley; cross country at Southmont; girls’ golf at Crawfordsville; middle school volleyball at home; middle school cross country at home; middle schools soccer at Northridge.

Wednesday: girls’ golf at Cascade.

Thursday: volleyball at South Putnam; boys’ soccer at Southmont; girls’ golf at Fountain Central; C-Team volleyball at South Putnam; middle school volleyball at Monrovia, middle school soccer against Crawfordsville.

Friday: football against South Putnam.

Saturday: cross country at Brownsburg; boys’ and girls’ soccer against South Vermillion; JV football at South Putnam.

A decision on whether to resume normal school activities will come later this week.
