Russellville Roundup slated for Sept. 11

RUSSELLVILLE -- The annual Russellville Roundup will only be one day this year, Saturday, Sept. 11.

All events will be at the Russellville Community Center with most activities being inside. Breakfast will be served from 8-10:30 a.m. featuring Barb’s homemade cinnamon rolls, sausage gravy, and biscuits, scrambled eggs, and omelets.

Lunch/dinner will be available beginning at 11 a.m. with fish, tenderloin, ham and beans, coneys, hot dogs, sloppy joe, French fries, macaroni salad, applesauce, slaw, sliced tomatoes, nachos and cheese, desserts and drinks being served.

One special event this year will be Saturday at 11 a.m. as Russellville Community Church Interim Pastor Keith Strain conducts a 20th anniversary service for 9/11. Ashley Ramsay will conclude this service by singing, “God Bless America.”

After the service at 11:30 a.m., Russellville native Sharon Nichols will do a Minnie Pearl impersonation, telling Minnie’s jokes and singing.

At noon Brayden Hoeferle and his assistant, Jazlynn Wethington, will be doing a magic show.

In the gym at 1 p.m. a baby contest (0-3 years) is scheduled to be followed by a Little Mr. and Miss contest (4-7 years). Interested persons should contact Chasity Goss at 765-918-8821. There is no registration fee. All children should be dressed in red, white and blue.

Roller skating comes next from 2-4 p.m. The rental cost for skating is $3. The D.J. for roller skating as well as all day will be Eric Hites.

The final event will be the raffle drawings.

Vendors, craft booths, along with cotton candy and snow cones will be set up in the gym. Vendors are to contact Amanda White at 765-366-3384 for booth space.
