Sheriff’s Office

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 3:21 p.m. on Wednesday, Natoshia R. Lee, 34, Brazil, had pulled through a parking spot in the South Putnam High School Parking lot, attempting to enter a lane of travel in a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu. Steven C. Theis, 18, Reelsville, was eastbound in the parking lot in a 2000 GMC Sonoma.

Lee told Deputy Tanner Brown she had pulled through a parking space into another, where there was a truck parked on her passenger side. She explained that as soon as she began pulling out, Theis struck her passenger side.

Theis said he had left his parking spot and was eastbound in the traffic lane. He said Lee then pulled out in front of him and he could not avoid the collision.

Brown reviewed the school’s video surveillance of the area and found that the truck had been parked next to Lee’s vehicle and that after an SUV had passed eastbound, she began to pull out and the two vehicles collided.

Brown estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.
