Jackie Hoffa honored as 2021 Cloverween grand marshal
CLOVERDALE — Known as “Miss Jackie” to many students at Cloverdale Schools, Jackie Hoffa was honored as the grand marshal for Cloverdale Main Street’s Cloverween festivities Saturday.
“During the last year, Jackie has brought a smile to many faces,” Cloverdale Main Street stated in a release.
Hoffa is a lifelong Clover who graduated from Cloverdale High School and currently works for the school corporation as a custodian. She is married to Jason Hoffa and is the mother of Darren and Lacy Hoffa.
“One of my passions is to stop bullying,” Hoffa said. “I work on this every day because I love to help the children of this community. I teach them kindness. You could say I spend most of my time spreading kindness and loving children.”
Hoffa said her favorite memory of Cloverdale is of Fred Sargent’s Dime Store and specifically recalled his generosity.
“Fred was very kind to us kids,” she remembered. “He is the type of person we all want to be: kind and generous.”
When asked what she would like to see happen in Cloverdale, Hoffa said she wants to see more people move back and help the town continue to grow.
“I love Cloverdale because it is the best little town,” Hoffa said. “The people are great and so friendly. It’s a solid town with good roots.”
