Richard L. ‘Dick’ McHargue

Richard L. “Dick” McHargue, 75, of Roachdale, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021.

Dick was born on April 3, 1946 to Cecil and Mildred (Chezem) McHargue of rural Rosedale, both of whom preceded him in death.

Dick and Karen founded Tri-County Trash Removal in 1972 and operated the company for 25 years before passing it along to his son Darrell. Dick had a passion for hunting and the outdoors and was an avid horse and mule enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Karen (Huxford); two children, son Darrell (Nancy), also of Roachdale, and daughter Lisa (McHargue) Parent of Wauwatosa, Wis. Other survivors include four grandchildren, Alex, Ben and Matt McHargue of Roachdale and Marissa Parent of Milwaukee, Wis. Dick is also survived by a sister, Mary Lou Farid, and niece Heidi Sprowls, both of Ohio; along with his mother-in-law Donna Huxford of Rosedale; and sisters-in-law Sharon Mattison and Rhonda Huxford.

Friends may call Friday evening, Oct. 8 from 5-7 p.m. at Servies & Morgan Funeral Home, 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale, IN 46172. A memorial service will be held graveside at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9 at Hebron Cemetery, County Road 650 West, Russellville.
