Clinton Township home lost in fire Sunday morning
VAN BIBBER LAKE — A Clinton Township home is a total loss following a fire which scrambled multiple emergency agencies Sunday morning.
At about 5:50 a.m., the Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched for a garage fire at 4089 N. CR 600 West. A box alarm was then dropped as the home on the property was fully engulfed.
Clinton Township Fire responded with an engine, a tanker and a squad car, while, the Bainbridge and Madison Township volunteer fire departments each responded with an engine. Meanwhile, the Russellville Volunteer Fire Department responded with a tanker. Putnam County EMS, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, Parke County REMC and the Red Cross also assisted at the scene.
The fire was considered under control by 6:40 a.m., and about 9,000 gallons of water were used to extinguish it. Command of the incident was terminated at about 8:40 a.m.
While the single-story home was lost, the garage adjacent to it was saved. No injuries were reported.
According to GIS, the property is listed to Donald and Melissa Hall.
The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the property Monday morning. It was ruled that the fire was accidental and related to cooking.
