Beyond Homeless conducting Heroes for the Homeless

Monday, October 18, 2021

The public is invited to join Beyond Homeless for the Heroes for the Homeless Virtual Challenge.

Proceeds from the Heroes for the Homeless Virtual Challenge will help the organization continue to provide emergency shelter, and essential programs and services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.

Taking part in the challenge, which began Oct. 1 and runs through Nov. 20, can include walking or running 1K, 5K, 10K or a full marathon, as well as cycling 50, 75 or 100 miles.

Participants are invited to complete a challenge in one day, complete multiple challenges over several days or all of them over the course of the event. It can be completed indoors or outdoors and done at your own pace or competitively against family and friends.

Everyone is asked to choose his or her level and start walking, running or cycling. Indoors or outside ... you choose. Participate at your own pace, or compete against family, friends, and co-workers.

Every challenge level receives recognition, from certificates and ribbons to superhero capes and medals.

When someone completes a level, they are invited to post a picture on the Facebook event space available at www.facebook.com/beyondhomelessinc/, so others can celebrate with them.

The end of the Heroes for the Homeless Virtual Challenge coincides with the last day of Homeless and Hunger Awareness Week.
