Sean James Berish

Sean James Berish, age 54, Unicoi, Tenn., passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021 at his residence.

Sean was born in Geneva, N.Y., and he grew up in Greencastle before making his home in Tennessee 20 years ago.

He was a son of the late Donald Sheehy, who was killed in action during the Vietnam War when Sean was a baby.

Sean was formerly employed as a manager at Wendy’s. He was a member of the Independent Christian Church. Sean loved God and was a believer in Jesus Christ.

Sean loved spending time with his daughter and enjoyed their visits to state parks. He loved animals, the outdoors and planting various fruit trees.

Survivors include his daughter, Emerald Paige Marie Berish of Gray, Tenn.; mother Janet Clark Berish of Greencastle; father Fred Berish Sr. of Wilmore, Ky.; three brothers, Kevin Berish (Lisa) of Gray, Tenn., Frederick “Fred” Berish, Jr. (Brenda) of Peoria, Ariz., and William Berish (Kristina) of Greencastle; two nieces, Bailey Berish and Brayden Berish; one nephew, Justin Berish; and several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Oct. 20 from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel. Gene Deaton will officiate the 1 p.m. funeral service. Fred Berish Jr. will share memories of his brother during the service. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
