Brazil woman, juveniles arrested in road rage incident
LIMEDALE — A Brazil woman and two juveniles were taken into custody following a road rage incident on Manhattan Road Friday evening.
At about 5 p.m., police received a report for a motor vehicle crash at the intersection with County Road 525 South. It was reported at this time that a physical altercation was taking place following the crash.
Megan Braun, 21, Greencastle, told Cpl. Scott Ducker that she was driving slowly on gravel roads and was being tailgated by another motorist, Christina Parker, 37, Brazil. Obscenities were then exchanged between occupants in both vehicles.
It was reported that Parker drove in front of Braun’s vehicle, stopped and then exited hers. Parker then brandished a small baseball bat and waived it with the intent of striking Braun’s vehicle. Braun continued on while Parker closely followed her.
Braun and Parker then collided at the intersection with County Road 550 North. Both, as well as two juveniles with Parker, exited their vehicles, after which the trio assaulted Braun. Ducker reported that one of the juveniles struck Braun in the head with the baseball bat. The suspected bat was later found in a nearby field.
Parker was arrested on charges of Class B misdemeanor battery, Class B misdemeanor disorderly conduct and Class A misdemeanor intimidation. Ducker reported that charges of felony child neglect would also be filed. Parker later bonded out.
Meanwhile, the juvenile who struck Braun was taken into custody and transferred to a juvenile correctional facility. The other involved was referred to juvenile probation.
Braun was transported to Putnam County Hospital for her injuries.
