Keeping up with the lunch rush, Ruth Myers (above right) and Anisha Tisher distribute meals to April Gay and children Nate Gay and Hailey Parker Saturday at the Community Connect event at the Putnam County Fairgrounds. With a goal of bringing together a variety of community services together under one roof, the inaugural event brought together about two dozen different resources, serving nearly 100 families, including signing up 58 for Giving Tree, bringing 25 cars through the Greencastle Police Department Drug Take-Back Day effort and 130 cars through the Gleaners Food Bank mobile distribution. “We are very thankful for more than 30 volunteers and all of our sponsors,” organizer Lori Miller said. “Extra kudos to Styling Station for providing free haircuts.”
