Non-Food Pantry sets Oct. 30 distribution

The Putnam County Non-Food Pantry, hosted by St Andrew’s Episcopal Church, will be distributing non-food items from noon until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30, at the church at 520 E. Seminary St., Greencastle. This will be a drive-through distribution of products only. Because of concerns about safety, only pre-packaged bags will be distributed, so there won’t be a choice of items.

Organizers will try to select items which have been popular in the past, but are unable to purchase some cleaning products, etc., because of the problems with supply. Sack lunches will also be given out.

It is asked that persons approach the church parking lot from Bloomington Street and exit on Seminary Street.

Organizers are sorry that the virus threat forces them to abbreviate Saturday gatherings. Those who work at the NFP will miss seeing and visiting with clients. Organizers are glad they can continue the distribution started 10 years ago even though it has to continue to be in this abbreviated way.

Because of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, the NFP distribution will occur on the third Saturdays of the month in November and December, instead of the last Saturday, these distributions will be on Nov. 20 and Dec. 18.
