PCPL Halloween treats include books

Monday, October 25, 2021

The Putnam County Public Library will host its annual trick-or-treat event on Saturday, Oct. 30 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Children and teens can pick up their free book and a treat in the Imagination Portal or Teen Area any time on Saturday.

The annual event is made possible by the Friends of the Putnam County Public Library, a group of invested individuals who pay a membership fee and dedicate volunteer hours to supporting the library.

The Friends are responsible for the library’s book store, regular book sales and promotions, fundraising events such as Touch-a-Truck, and managing fundraising partnerships such as Kroger Community Rewards.

“We are very excited to be able to provide a trick-or-treat experience at the library this year,” Library Director Matt McClelland said. “We want to thank the Friends of the Library for their constant efforts to raise funding for our children’s programming and we encourage anyone who supports libraries to join the Friends.”
