Hospice and Palliative Care Month

Thursday, November 4, 2021
Acknowledging the importance of end-of-life care for patients and families, Greencastle Mayor Bill Dory signs a proclamation recognizing November as National Hospice and Palliative Care Month. Dory is joined for the proclamation by representatives of the Putnam County Hospice and Palliative Care Association including (from left) board Co-Chairman Tammy Hunter, Public Education Committee Chairman Brand Selvia, board member Judi Purvis and Executive Director Elaine Peck. Palliative care is focused on providing comfort and dignity at the end of life by utilizing a wholistic, person- and family-centered approach. Beyond providing physical treatment, hospice attends to the patient’s emotional, spiritual and family needs, as well as provides family services like respite care and bereavement counseling.
