CLOVERDALE — Wanted for more than a month for a Cunot-area shooting, a Poland man is finally in police custody and charged with two felonies, including attempted murder.

The Cloverdale Police Department reported it assisted the Owen County Sheriff’s Department with the apprehension of the suspect, Bobby G. Forey (aka Bobby Forey-Standifer), on Wednesday, Nov. 3.

The arrest took place on Main Street in Cloverdale without incident.

Forey, 31, Poland, was transported to the Owen County Jail.

On Friday, Owen County Prosecutor Donald VanDerMoere filed charges of Level 1 felony attempted murder and Level 5 felony carrying a handgun as a felon with conviction in the last 15 years in Owen Circuit Court.

Investigators believe that on Sept. 29, Forey shot 25-year-old Zebediah Featherston from a moving vehicle in the area of State Road 42 and State Road 243.

Featherston was transported to IU Health-Bloomington Hospital for his injuries.

Although authorities almost immediately identified Forey as a suspect, he remained at large for another five weeks.

If convicted of both alleged crimes, Forey could face 46 years in prison.
