Joyce Juanita (McMillan) Jones

Joyce Juanita (McMillan) Jones, 88, of Greencastle, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021.

She was born at home on Dec. 12, 1932 to Lossan V. and Nell (Wilson) McMillan in Indianapolis. She lived in Mooresville for five years before moving to Greencastle, where her maternal grandparents (Wilson) lived, in 1942.

She graduated from Greencastle High School.

Joyce was a lifelong member of Gobin United Methodist Church and that was where she met Norman W. Jones. They were married Aug. 1, 1952, and celebrated 51 years of marriage before his passing in December 2003. She was also a choir member at the church for more than 50 years and a Bells of Gobin member for several years. She loved life and enjoyed traveling around the world.

She had worked at Public Service and Mallory Capacitor.

She was a loving mother and grandmother, having two sons, Randall (Jamie) Jones and Douglas Jones; grandchildren, Jeanette (Justin) Bozied and Lossan Jones; great-grandson Jack Bozied of Austin, Texas; a sister, Martha Garcia of Fort Worth, Texas; two nephews, Christopher Garcia of Indianapolis and Lossan Garcia of Fort Worth, TX.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband; a newborn daughter, Rhonda, on New Year’s Day in 1954; and her brother, James R. McMillan.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery on Tuesday, Dec. 14.

The family will receive friends at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday.
