James Terry White

James “Terry” White, 74, Greencastle, died on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021.

He was born Aug. 6, 1947 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., the son of James Davis and Lou White.

Terry was a 1965 graduate of Lebanon High School.

He served as a platoon sergeant in Company F, 7th Batallion, 2nd training brigade at Fort Jackson, S.C.

Terry went on to work for Rieth Riley in road construction, helping to build Interstate 70. He spent most of his career working as a lineman for Public Service/Duke, retiring after 42 years.

He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson Heritage Softtail Classic, horses in both 4-H and horse shows and watching his grandchildren in their sporting activities and motorcycle riding.

He was preceded in death by sister Kathy White and his mother, Lou Moore.

He is survived by sisters Pam Dennison and Gail Nodine, both of Garrett, Ind.; children T.J. White (Brandy), Michelle Gierke (Tim), Amber Galford (Colin), Ryan White (Tosha) and Matthew White (Jordan); and grandchildren Jaedyn, Brett, Brandon, Bradi, Griffin, Madeline, Sofia, Kaiden, Ryder and Taely.

A celebration of James’ life is set for 3-6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11 at Abundant Life Baptist Church, 822 W. U.S. 40, Greencastle.
