Fillmore, Jefferson Township VFDs assist on large fire in Hendricks County

CLAYTON — Firefighters from two eastern Putnam County volunteer fire departments assisted on a large fire in Hendricks County early Saturday morning.

Both departments were dispatched at about 2:15 a.m. on a mutual aid call for a fully involved structure fire at Aacme Auto Parts, approximately five miles east of Stilesville.

Along with Fillmore and Jefferson Township, multiple fire departments from Hendricks and Morgan counties responded to the blaze. Meanwhile, the westbound side of the highway was shut down during the incident.

The fire was marked as out by 4 a.m. and no injuries as result have been reported. Stilesville VFD Chief Steve Kershaw told the Banner Graphic Monday afternoon that the fire was under investigation.
